Miranda Milburn is the Student Wellbeing Worker at University Park Primary School. Miranda is employed by ACCESS Ministries to provide social, emotional and spiritual support to the students and wider school community. By supporting the wellbeing of students in these areas, their learning is assisted. She does this primarily through building relationships with students, being a positive role model and being available to listen to them.
Miranda is at University Park PS full time, working two days per week in wellbeing and as an Education Support Officer over the other three days. She coordinates both a Recess and Lunchtime Activities Program for all interested students throughout the year. In addition, Miranda supports our Breakfast Club, which takes place daily from 8:10am-8:40am. Miranda coordinates the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program for Grades 1 to 4, which was implemented in 2013, and actively supports the Better Buddies Program and Bluearth (Blu Buddies) Program.
Who are ACCESS Ministries Student Wellbeing Workers?
ACCESS Student Wellbeing Workers are provided to Victorian State Schools by the Council for Christian Education in Schools. Their role includes providing pastoral care to all associated with the school learning community. This is done through developing a relationship of trust, confidence and competency and may involve counseling and referral services.
